WHO WE ARE

Funded by the 21st Century Learning Grant, Mercyhurst University established MELIA in 2019. MELIA is intended as an after school and weekend enrichment program for students at Northwestern and Springfield Elementary.  The program serves students from K-2 and provides activities in STEM, ELA, movement, and more! MELIA is also responsible for establishing the Rising K preschool programs at Northwestern and Springfield Elementary. Both preschool programs run from February to August and are intended to prepare students for Kindergarten. The classes are co-taught by graduate students in Mercyhurst's Special Education program.
